Minister for Arts, Culture & Heritage Yumna Maumoon has revealed that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet, the Minister said that she had tested positive for COVID and that she was currently isolated at home. Yumna also said that she was having fever, sore throat, and body pain.

She further said that she was worried for her parents and family. Minister Yumna is the daughter of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and first lady Nasreena Ibrahim.

Minister Yumna also said that we all need to do what we can to prevent the virus from getting to the elderly, children, and those at high risk.

The Minister's positive news follows after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih revealed yesterday that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The President had said that his result came in after he had done a PCR test before his trip to the Atolls.

President Solih also said that he was currently in isolation.

The President's Office said that the President is in good health and in isolation at his official residence, Mulee’aage.
