Health Protection Agency HPA has reported that the daily COVID cases confirmed in the Greater Male' Area are above 100 for the fourth straight day.
HPA said yesterday that a total of 5,361 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and that 337 samples returned with positive results.
The Agency reported that out of these, 101 were from the Greater Male' Area and that 129 were from the inhabited islands. HPA also confirmed 99 new cases from the operational resorts, 2 from safaris and said that they had confirmed the location of 6 more cases.
The total pandemic cases reported in the island nation have now reached 97,668.
HPA has said that currently there are 3,300 active cases of the pandemic in the country and that the number of hospitalized COVID patients has now reached 15.
A total of 94,091 individuals have now recovered from the illnesses in the Maldives.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has killed 264 individuals in the Maldives.
HPA had also said that the total cases include 13 deceased positives whose cause of death is not directly due to COVID-19.
