Health Protection Agency HPA has reported an additional 190 new cases of COVID-19 in the country on Tuesday.
HPA said that out of the 190 reported yesterday, 71 were confirmed from the inhabited islands and a further 71 were confirmed from operational resorts in the country.
HPA also said that 47 new cases were confirmed from the Greater Male' Area while one case was reported from safaris.
The Agency confirmed that a total of 95,222 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in the country since March 2020.
HPA had also said that currently there are 2,127 active cases of the pandemic in the country and that 11 remained hospitalized for further treatment.
A total of 92,820 people have recovered from the illness in the country.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has killed 262 people in the Maldives with the latest pandemic death coming yesterday.
HPA had said that yesterday at 05:30 am, an 86-year-old local woman brought to Thaa Vilifushi Health Center was declared dead and that she passed away due to the pandemic.
