The President's Office says Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who had arrived in the country yesterday is scheduled to meet President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and other state dignitaries during her visit.

It said that the Prime Minister and her delegation arrived at Velana International Airport, where they were received by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The President's Office said that an official welcoming ceremony for the Prime Minister would be held on today.

It said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to meet with President Solih and other state dignitaries during her visit.

It noted that the two governments would hold official talks on strengthening bilateral cooperation, following which a number of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) would be exchanged.

The President's Office also said that the President and the Prime Minister would also hold a joint press conference and speak about the outcomes of the talks between the two governments.

Meanwhile, the people's majlis had confirmed that it would hold out-of-session sitting today and that the visiting Bangladeshi Prime Minister would be giving an address during the sitting.

The special sitting is set to begin at 4 pm in the afternoon.
