Police have taken MP for Kaashidhoo constituency Abdullah Jabir under their custody.
'The Press' have come to know that MP Jabir was taken under police custody because of a Civil Court Order.
The Civil Court usually issues such orders for defendants who ignore court summons or who cannot be summoned due to their unavailability to accept court chits.
The actual reason why MP Jabir was taken under custody remains unclear.
Sources have confirmed that MP Jabir was taken under police custody while he was visiting an island in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
Recently authorities have held the MP's passport following which he had staged a protest outside the Parliament building.
The Court then had ordered the authorities to release his passport.
MP Jabir had also been recently involved in a scuffle on Alifu Alifu Atoll Mathiveri.
