Anti Corruption Commission ACC has issued a summon to Male' City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to attend the commission today.
The Mayor is set to attend the ACC summon at 2 pm this afternoon.
Speaking on the summon, Mayor Muizzu said that ACC's decision was an intimidation tactic and that he would not be unnerved by these tactics.
Criticizing the ACC, the Mayor said that although the commission is supposed to be an independent organization, it is not operated as such.
The summon by ACC comes as the Male' City Council locked horns with Hulhumale Housing Development Corporation HDC over the ownership of Hulhumale' after the Council moved to revoke the registry issued to HDC.
The ACC had previously summoned Mayor Muizzu over the accusations surrounding the agreement struck with Strada Pvt Ltd to build Bridge View Platform when he was the Housing Minister.
