Health Protection Agency HPA says that the COVID-19 death toll in the Maldives has now reached 250 today.

HPA had today confirmed two COVID deaths in the country. The Agency had said first that last night at 02:00 am a 54-year-old local female admitted at N. Atoll Hospital has passed away.

HPA said that this was the 249th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

The Agency had also confirmed that a 90-year-old local man admitted at Hulhumale Medical Facility had passed away due to COVID-19. HPA declared his death as the 250th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

A total of 7 people have died of COVID-19 in the country so far this month.

More than 91,400 people in the Maldives have now tested positive for COVID-19 since March 2020 and HPA had said that there are currently 1,769 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

HPA had also said that 89,434 people have now recovered from the illness in the Maldives.
