Health Protection Agency HPA has reported more than 90,000 cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives since March 2020.

HPA said yesterday that 118 new cases were confirmed in the country yesterday and that 70 of those cases came from the inhabited islands.

The Agency also said that 35 new cases were reported from the Greater Male' Area while 13 cases were confirmed from operational resorts in the country.

The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 reported in the country to a staggering 90,117.

HPA said that there are 2,154 active cases of COVID-19 in the country right now and that 10 COVID-19 patients remained hospitalized for further treatment.

It said that 87,703 people have recovered from the illness in the Maldives.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has killed 248 people in the Maldives with the latest death coming earlier today from Hulhumale' Medical Facility HMF where a 75-year-old local woman succumbed to COVID-19.
