Police say they have brought back the body of the IGMH nurse who had died under suspicious circumstances to India for a postmortem.
They said the body was brought back from India last night after it was sent for an autopsy last week.
Police also said that they were now working to hand over the body of the deceased to her family.
The Filipino nurse named Mary Grace was found hanging in her apartment in an apparent suicide last month but authorities have begun an investigation into her death as there are reportedly suspicions of wrongdoing.
The nurse had been found dead shortly after an argument with her husband who also worked at the hospital.
Police had then arrested 28-year-old Marvin in relation to his wife's death and he had been remanded in custody for another 15 days on the 28th of last month.
As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that the husband of the deceased nurse had been romantically involved with a local nurse who also worked at IGMH. The local nurse has since been suspended from work.
The Police also revealed that they had seized the phone of the lover for the investigation and searched her apartment in Male'.
