President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited the World Travel Market (WTM) London travel and tourism expo in London, United Kingdom.

The President was accompanied on this visit by a high-level Maldivian delegation including the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom.

President Solih visited the Maldives Stand at WTM London, where more than 58 Maldivian travel and tourism companies are participating to promote the Maldives as a destination.

He met with representatives from the Maldives at the stand, encouraging and commending them for endeavoring to promote the Maldives travel and tourism industry despite the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

WTM is one of the largest and most important global events for the travel and tourism industry. It is held as a hybrid event this year, with the physical event taking place in ExCel London from 1-3 November and a virtual event taking place the week after on 8-9 November.

WTM was held as a fully-virtual event in 2020 due to the limitations caused by the global Covid-19 pandemic. This year, WTM London brands itself as the discovery point for a new wave of ideas, technologies, and solutions that would enable the next generation of travel businesses to emerge and thrive.
