A police vehicle has been involved in a road accident in Laamu Atoll today.
Police have said to media outlets that the accident had occurred when one of its vehicles traveling on the Laamu Gan Link Road had lost control and overturned.
They said that only one police officer had been in the car when the accident had happened and that the officer had now been taken to the hospital to get treated for the injuries.
Police added that the officer involved in the accident had a valid driver's license.
Police did not give any more information regarding the injuries the officer had sustained during the incident.
Social media pictures of the accident show an overturned police vehicle at the side of the road.
