Police say 3 men have been arrested in connection to the abduction of a 17-year-old boy on Lhaviyani Atoll Lhaimagu.
Police had said that the incident had occurred on the 22nd of this month and that the minor had also been tortured after being abducted.
In a new development, Police said that they had arrested three men had been arrested in relation to the case.
Police said that all three were arrested under a court order and that they were arrested from Lhaimagu itself.
Police informed that the suspects under custody include a 31-year-old and 2 26-year-olds.
The Gender Ministry had offered protection to the underage victim.
The President of Lhaimagu Council Adam Azmeeru had confirmed to "The Press" that police on the island were in fact investigating such an incident.
