President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Hussain Niyazi as the new Auditor General.
At a ceremony held earlier today at the President's Office, President Solih appointed Niyazy as the Auditor General, in accordance with Article 210 of the constitution. Hussain Niyazy took the oath of office before Supreme Court Justice Uz. Mahaz Ali Zahir.
Hussain Niyazy is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), from the United Kingdom since 2008. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Bangalore, India.
Hussain Niyazy filled several posts in the Auditor General’s Office including the post of Assistant Auditor General, Audit Manager, and Assistant Auditor. Niyazy is currently a council member of the Maldives Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is the Chairperson of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives' Admission and Licensing Committee, among other positions in the profession.
