Health Protection Agency HPA has reported two more COVID-19 deaths in the Maldives today.

The Agency confirmed via Twitter that today at 09:50 am, a 77-year-old local man admitted at the Hulhumale Medical Facility had succumbed to COVID-19.

HPA had said that this was the 190th COVID death confirmed in the Maldives.

The Agency had also reported today's second COVID-19 death from the facility.

HPA had said that a 94-year-old local man admitted at the facility had passed away at 10:31 am today due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

HPA added that his death had taken the pandemic death toll in the country to a staggering 191.

Out of the 191 deaths reported in the Maldives, 30 deaths have come so far this month while HPA had confirmed a total of 88 COVID-19 deaths in the country last month.

Last month had seen the highest COVID-19 fatalities in the country since the pandemic hit the island nation last year.
