Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed two more COVID-19 deaths in the Maldives.

The Agency tweeted today saying that earlier today at 12:47 am, a 93-year-old Maldivian man admitted at HMF has passed away due to the illness taking the country's pandemic death toll to 183.

HPA reported another death earlier today after saying that at 08:00 am, an an-82-year-old local woman also admitted at HMF had succumbed to the pandemic.

This had taken the total number of deaths reported in the country to a staggering 184.

HPA had confirmed 23 COVID-19 deaths so far this month with the agency reporting 5 deaths yesterday alone. This includes a 28-year-old woman who succumbed to the illness while under treatment at DH11 of Dharumavantha Hospital.

Last month saw the highest pandemic casualties ever reported in the country since the infection hit the Maldives earlier last month.

HPA had confirmed 88 people had passed away in the Maldives due to COVID-19 in May of 2021.
