First Lady Madam Fazna Ahmed has set an example to the country after volunteering at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility, currently overwhelmed by the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.
The first lady's involvement as a volunteer worker at HMF was confirmed by the Maldives Girl Guide association today as madam Fazna serves as the Chief guide of the association.
Wishing the first Lady on her birthday, the association said that she was setting an example for girls and Young Women in the country.
It went on to thank Madam Fazna for volunteering at the Hulhumale facility and for continuing to inspire the members of the association.
The Health Ministry had called for volunteers with field expertise to help with the massive operation against the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this month and the first Lady had shown a keen interest to volunteer.
She had said then that given the chance, she would not hesitate to volunteer to help in the fight against the pandemic. The First Lady had volunteered in the operations before.
