Health Protection Agency HPA has reported 6 more COVID-19 deaths in the country as the death toll in the country reaches 111.
HPA first confirmed two death from the COVID-19 facility in Laamu Atoll Gan. The Agency said that last night at 01:54 am an 87-year-old Maldivian man admitted at the center had passed away and that again at 03:01 am a 69-year-old local woman also admitted at the center had succumbed to the illness.
HPA also confirmed four COVID-19 deaths from the Greater Male' Area and three of the deaths were reported from the Hulhumale Medical Facility.
It said that today a 73-year-old Maldivian male brought to IGMH/ER was declared dead at 7:25 am. Many of the recent COVID-19 deaths have been those who had been rushed to the IGMH/ER.
The Agency detailed the three deaths reported from HMF and said that today at 08:44 am a 51-year-old Indian male admitted at HMF has passed away while at 08:30 am a 63-year-old local woman admitted at the facility had also died from the illness.
HPA reported that today's deaths include that of a 66-year-old local man under treatment at HMF and that he had passed away at 09:48 am.
Today's death takes the total number of COVID-19 deaths reported in the country to a staggering 111.
HPA had reported 38 deaths this month alone making it the month with the highest death count by a big margin since the COVID-19 pandemic reached its shores back in March 2020.
