Health Protection Agency HPA has reported 3 more COVID-19 deaths in the Maldives today as the death toll soars to 90.

Two of the deaths were reported from Hulhumale Medical Facility HMF.

HPA confirmed via Twitter that earlier today at 02:24 am an 86-year-old local male admitted to HMF has passed away. HPA said that this is the 88th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

The Agency tweeted saying that at 06:30 am a 64-year-old local man admitted to the facility also succumbed to the pandemic and that this is the 89th COVID death in the country.

Meanwhile, an 86-year-old local woman admitted at DH11 had died from the illness at 09:05 am today.

These three deaths take the total COVID-19 death toll recorded in the Maldives to a staggering 90. HPA had also confirmed that 17 people have succumbed to death this month alone.

The Agency confirmed 4,289 new cases of COVID-19 in the country in the past three days propelling the total number of cases to 41,308.
