Maldivian authorities have confirmed that travelers arriving in the Maldives, will not be required to produce a negative COVID-19 PCR-test certificate upon arrival and undergo mandatory quarantine if travelers have passed 2 weeks after full vaccination against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Immigration said that this would go into effect on the 20th of April and that travelers must demonstrate proof of a valid full vaccination certificate with an approved vaccine against COVID-19.

It also said that tourists who have completed full vaccination and completed 2 weeks after full vaccination, do not require a negative PCR test result to enter the Maldives.

Immigration added that the other visa holders are exempt from quarantine procedures if they have completed the 2nd dose of vaccination and have passed 2 weeks from then.

However, travelers arriving in the Maldives to work in the following places are required to present a negative PCR test result on arrival, even though 2 weeks have passed after completing their 2nd dose of vaccination;

  • Health facilities
  • Daycare centers
  • Schools
  • Residential care services

The Ministry of Tourism also confirmed that change in on-arrival PCR tests submissions via Twitter and said that traveling to the Maldives had now become easier.

The latest statistics by the Ministry showed that a total of 345,261 tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year and this includes 46,000 tourists who arrived in the country this month.
