HPA reported that there are more than 800 active cases of COVID-19 in the Atolls right now.

Yesterday it had reported just 24 new cases of COVID-19 from the islands as authorities looked to get a better grip on the COVID situation in the islands.

It was the first time in 5 days the daily COVID numbers reported from the Atolls have dropped below 50 with authorities looking to reign in the community spreads in Kaafu Atoll Huraa and the whole of Lhaviyani Atoll, where all the inhabited islands are now under monitoring. HPA had last week taken strict measures in Huraa and Naifaru of Lhaviyani Atoll including imposing curfews and banning house visiting among residents.
