Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed an additional 140 new cases of the COVID-19 global pandemic here in the Maldives today.
HPA said in its daily tweet that out of the 140, 102 were confirmed from the Greater Male' Area while 17 cases were reported from inhabited islands and 14 new cases were reported from operational resorts.
HPA also said that 6 new cases were confirmed from safaris while 1 case was reported from an island under development.
This takes the total cases reported in the country to 22,513.
HPA had said that 20,004 people have now recovered from the pandemic and that 2,436 remained as active cases of the pandemic here in the Maldives.
The Agency also said that the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has now fallen to 95 in the country.
The global pandemic has killed 66 individuals in the Maldives including four this month.
The 66 individuals who have succumbed to the pandemic include 59 locals and 7 foreigners.
