Police have confirmed that the teenage girl reported missing in Kaafu Atoll Maafushi has now been found safe and sound.
It said that the 15-year-old was found in a restaurant on the island after she was reported missing in the early hours of this morning.
Police said that it was further investigating the case.
The circumstances surrounding the girl's disappearance and subsequent recovery are yet to disclosed to the public.
Earlier this year, authorities had confirmed that a missing person's report had been filed at Thaa. Atoll Vandhoo.
Police had later confirmed that the 35-year-old woman had been found in the woods on the island.
Last year, Police had confirmed that a woman had been held captive in Male' and blackmailed after she was reported missing by her family.
The woman had stumbled home on her own but had given a frightening account of how she was held captive and harmed by a group of men who had only released her after she paid them MVR 25000.
Police had said that it had arrested a 31-year-old local man under court order in relation to the case.
Police have yet to give more information about the case or whether or not additional arrests were made in relation to the abduction.
