Maldives National Defense Force MNDF Chief of Staff Major General Abdullah Shamaal has met the Chief of Staff of UAE Armed forces General Hamad M. Thani Al-Rumaithi.
The meeting between the Chiefs of staff was held today as part of Major General Shamaal's visit to the gulf nation.
MNDF said that they both discussed enhancing the Defence cooperation between the two countries and explored new avenues of military assistance for the MNDF from UAE armed forces.
After the meeting, Major General Shamaal said that he was honored to call on General Hamad M. Thani Al-Rumaithi.
He also said that they had extremely fruitful discussions on enhancing the Defence cooperation between the two countries and talked about the new areas of military assistance for the MNDF from UAE armed forces.
Meanwhile, Chief Staff Major General Shammaal had today also met the Executive Director of Hedayah, Ahmed AlQasimi, and his team. UAE-based Hedayah is an international organization for expertise and experience to counter violent extremism in all its forms through dialogue, capacity building, and research.
Shamaal said that his discussion with the organization focused on ways to enhance engagements between Hedayah, MNDF, and National Counter Terrorism Center NCTC.
