Authorities in the Maldives have begin the registration for the much-awaited COVID-19 vaccination today.
Health Protection Agency HPA said that it is currently focusing on registering healthcare personnel in the Maldives and that they can begin the registration process via https://my.health.mv/
Health Authorities said that COVID vaccination will take place in phases based on the availability of the vaccine.
They have said that priority will be given to those who are most vulnerable to the effects of the disease, those working on the frontline, and later to the general population.
Earlier, authorities had prioritized who would be receiving the immunization first based on the work they do and the dangers they face during the pandemic.
- Front line health and social care workers (3 percent)
- Those at risk of developing complications (17%)
- Frontline essential workers and international travelers
It is yet unclear when the vaccination will begin in the Maldives although recent media reports have speculated that the inoculation process would begin later this month.
