Education Ministry confirms that schools would reopen on the 10th of this month as per the revised Academic Calendar.

In a tweet, the Ministry said as per the calendar, the 2nd term for the 2020-2021 academic year is set to begin next Sunday.

The Ministry also said that schools would be open for students between the grades of LKG to 12.

It had said that the second term would conclude on the 24th of June 2021.

Although the Ministry had announced that schools would resume on Sunday, it is yet to release any information on how the sessions would be conducted at the schools.

The 2020 Academic year was disrupted after the discovery of the COVID-19 pandemic here in the Maldives with schools across the nation closed down in March last year.

Schools in the Atolls reopened in July but the schools in the Greater Male' Area remained closed for the majority of the year with only students of upper grades being allowed to attend physical classes at schools.

But schools were encouraged to hold online classes for their students to continue their education amid the pandemic.
