Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC has signed an agreement with Maldives Ports Limited MPL to design and build Gdh. Thinadhoo Regional Port during an event held at Gdh. Thinadhoo today.
On behalf of MTCC, company CEO Adam Azim signed the agreement while MPL CEO Shahid Ali signed for the company.
MTCC said that the scope of the project includes dredging 4500cbm from channel basin, laying a 3000sqm rc slab pavement, establishment of a stormwater management system, and fencing the port area.
It said that the project is valued at MVR 15 million and is expected to be completed within 45 days.
MTCC had recently celebrated 40 years in service with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih praising the company for its vital role in implementing the Government’s policies to ensure basic services nationwide.
Expressing his delight at MTCC's achievements, the President noted that despite the difficulties presented by Covid-19, this year has been the most successful in the entire history of the company.
Highlighting the valuable services offered by MTCC throughout its 40 years of existence, President Solih thanked all the hard-working staff of MTCC.
He noted that the exemplary leadership of MTCC is evident as the company earned MVR 140 million in profit before tax within the first three quarters of 2020.
