Lh. Atoll Hospital says it has begun giving daycare Chemotherapy services today.

In a tweet, the hospital said the chemotherapy services would be provided from its newly added oncology unit in collaboration with the Hhulhumale Hospital.

Lh. Atoll Hospital said that the unit can cater to six patients at once.

It also said that this is another step taken forward to implement decentralized healthcare by the government.

In a recent trip to Laamu Atoll, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced that a Cancer Hospital will be built in Laamu Gan with the assistance of the Indian Government.

He said that the government had presented the project documents to the Indian government and is expecting a decision on the project soon. He also said that building work on the hospital is scheduled to begin next year.

President Solih added that the Government remains committed to decentralizing basic services across the country.
