Health Protection Agency HPA says 36 people had tested positive for COVID-19 in the country on Thursday.

In a tweet, HPA said that this includes 32 new cases from the Greater Male’ Area, 2 new cases reported from operational resorts in the country, and 2 cases confirmed from inhabited islands across the country.

HPA also said that this takes the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country to 13,106.

HPA also revealed that 153 people have recovered from the illness today in the Maldives and that the total number of recoveries has now reached 12,154 in the Maldives.

The Agency said that there are 898 active cases of COVID-19 in the country and that 86 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized for further treatment.

HPA had confirmed that 47 people have died from COVID-19 in the Maldives since April of this year including 40 locals and 7 foreigners.
