Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure that children with disabilities receive the special care and attention that they deserve.
He made this call after meeting stakeholders to discuss ways to increase opportunities and support for children with disabilities.
The meeting, held at the President’s Office this morning, included discussions on safeguarding the rights of children with disabilities and campaigns to enhance these ongoing efforts.
The Vice President noted the importance of improving the existing approach towards maternal and neonatal wellbeing.
Highlighting that children with disabilities require special attention even before reaching school age, he added that offering them essential assistance and care from the earliest ages should be the focus of intervention strategies.
He further noted the importance of strengthening the structures in place to support children with disabilities within the education system.
Stakeholders at the meeting discussed ways to improve available facilities and treatment for children with disabilities. The meeting was joined by senior officials from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services.
