The Cabinet of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has deliberated on the policy priorities and plans for the next 2 years after the COVID-19 crisis has forced the government to deviate from its original Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for 2019-2023.
The President's Office said that the Cabinet discussion held on 25th August 2020 highlighted that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic poses several challenges to the Government's ability to implement and adhere to the original schedule of its Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for 2019-2023.
It said in light of this, the Policy Section at the President's Office recently proposed a revised priority list and schedule for the SAP, which will allow the Government to deliver on its key pledges to citizens, within a realistic time frame, that factors in the challenges of the pandemic.
The President's Office said that this revised list was discussed at the cabinet meeting held today at the President's Office.
Cabinet Ministers deliberated on the projects and activities listed to determine priorities in each sector.
The Ministers collectively expressed that their respective ministries would give their full support to the Administration in fulfilling these priorities, despite the difficulties of Covid-19.
