Police say an 84-year-old has died earlier tonight having fallen into Thaa Atoll Guraidhoo Lagoon.
Police said the man had fallen into the lagoon near Guraidhoo Jetty Area around 8:45 pm tonight. Police said the man was rushed to Guraidhoo Health Center and that he had died while under treatment.
Police added that it was further investigating the incident.
Reports say that the elderly man was rescued by the crew of dinghy nearby.
Reports also say that the Health Center declared the man dead at 9:15 pm tonight.
