Health Protection Agency HPA says 116 individuals recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic in the Maldives on Monday taking the total recoveries past 6000.
HPA said in its latest update that the country has now recorded 6052 recoveries since the Maldives reported its first case of COVID-19 back in March.
HPA also said that the number of active cases has now dropped from 2613 to 2580 in the last 24 hours.
It added that the number of individuals in state-run isolation facilities had also decreased from 1143 to 1118 since Sunday.
HPA noted that 142 COVID-19 patients remained hospitalized for further treatment.
A total of 29 people have succumbed to the pandemic here in the Maldives since April and this includes 23 locals and 6 foreigners.
