Finance Ministry says no acts of corruption have committed in the implementation of the National Single Window Projects and denied reports that say that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) which is funding the project has pulled out of the venture.
Speaking at a press conference held today Senior Policy Director at the Ministry Hussain Hameem said that reports saying that the project involved corruption were false.
Hameem also said that ADB itself has indicated that no acts of corruption were committed during the bidding phase of the projects or up until now and the bank had shared its findings with the Ministry.
Hameem said that the project would be re-awarded to another party and that Web Fontaine Asia Incorporated can submit its proposal for a second time around too.
Lead Consultant of the National Single Window Project Saeed Umar said today that ADB would decide on the parties that can submit bids for the project. Saeed said Maldivian authorities were collaborating with ADB on the rebidding process and were having the relevant discussions.
