State Trading Organization (STO) on Saturday, 05 September 2020, confirmed prices of petrol and diesel available for consumers remaind unchanged.
The largest state owned enterprise, notes the prices per liter on both petrol and diesel remain at its last revised prices without any changes made.
Earlier, several local media outlets reported the prices on both fuel components surging to which the company's Managing Director Hussain Amr had responded.
Moreover, he had criticized the relative irresponsibility and unprofessionalism of local media urging for responsible correspondence.
According to STO, petrol will be sold at MVR8.07 per liter while diesel's retail price is at MVR8.71 per liter, constant as of the most recent revisions. Earlier in March, the company had sliced prices per liter on both petrol and diesel from MVR9.60 per liter and MVR10.39 per liter, respectively.
