Health Protection Agency HPA says 2 more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Addu City today.
HPA said the new cases include a 30-year-old man and a 37-year-old man from Addu City. HPA said they had given their samples to be tested before going to home quarantine in Addu City.
HPA had said last night that Addu City is currently hosting 6 active cases of COVID-19 including 3 in Feydhoo, 2 in Hithadhoo, and 1 in Maradhoo.
HPA had earlier confirmed 20 cases in 7 islands from 6 Atolls including Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo, Lhaviyani Naifaru, and Raa Inguraidhoo.
A total of 7804 people has tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives although 5155 individuals have since recovered from the illness.
The pandemic has claimed 29 lives here in the Maldives including 23 locals and 6 foreigners.
