Health authorities confirm a 21 year old local woman tested positive for Covid-19 posthumously.
Meanwhile, Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) confirms the patient had already died prior to being transferred to Hulhumale' Hospital on Friday evening. Her results had come posthumously.
The case also marks the youngest such case of posthumously testing positive for the viral contagion in Maldives, whereas in previous cases the deceased were elderly citizens.
Maldives Police Service also concurs they had received report of the incident around 23:42hrs of Friday evening.
Health authorities have earlier confirmed, local hospitals and medical institutions will perform Covid-19 tests on every case of death reported in the country to assess presence of the disease.
