Health Protection Agency HPA reports that 182 individuals had recovered from COVID-19 on Friday.
In its latest update, HPA said that the number of recoveries in the country has now reached 4873.
This in turn has reduced the number of active cases of COVID-19 from 2610 on Thursday to 2568 on Friday.
HPA added that the number of individuals under isolation at state-run facilities had also reduced from 1458 to 1434.
But HPA confirmed that 12 more people were hospitalized with COVID-19 on Friday taking the total number of hospitalized individuals to 192.
Last week, the HEOC had said that the 62 percent of the COVID-19 beds in the Greater Male’ Area has now been filled.
Recently, members of the Technical Advisory Group TAG Team had voiced these concerns and have warned that the bed capacity was now nearing its limit.
The latest information from the authorities reveals that currently there are 300 functional COVID-19 beds in the Greater Male’ Region.
This includes 250 isolation beds and 11 ICU beds in Hulhumale Medical Facility, 10 ICU beds on the 11th floor of Dharumavantha hospital, and 6 isolation beds on the 16th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital.
