The Progressive Congress Coalition of Maldives made announcement on Wednesday about their next protest initiative against the incumbent state's decisions.

According to the opposition coalition their next initiative to voice dissent against the state's decisions will come in the form a vehicle ride, scheduled for the coming Friday between 16:00hrs to 18:00hrs.

Moreover, the coalition confirms the vehicle rally will commence in front of Progressive Party of Maldives' office situated in front of the artificial beach venue at Henveiru district. The coalition affirms their rally will continue across the city and will conclude in front of the party office.

The Progressive Coalition have requested all members of the opposition, especially youths, to participate in the event along with the coalition's top brass. Furthermore, the coalition notes the participants will be provided with face masks and sanitizers.

Meanwhile the opposition coalition affirms their vehicle rally is an initiative on behalf of the country's youth, to voice against the state's indecisiveness and the social and economical setbacks faced by young entrepreneurs and small to medium enterprises.

Opposition's rally is coming as a rebuttal to state's recent decision on fining land vehicles operating after 20:00hrs every night.

State's move for a vehicular fine is as per the government, a bid to cut down on public movement and in turn control the spread of Covid-19 in light of the recent spikes.
