The administrative or officers of Maldives Police Service with state provided accommodation or housing will not receive living allowances under new policies.
In a statement released by the law enforcement authority on Tuesday, said officers or staff employed at the Maldives Police Service with state provided accommodation in any form, inclusive of social housing apartments, will no longer be subjected to the living allowance.
The changes have been brought after the Police Executive Board advised against the living allowance policies noting it was not justifiable or fair.
Moreover, Maldives Police Service confirms officers with the aforementioned provisions will no longer receive the allowance effective from 1 September 2020.
Furthermore clerical designates at Directorate of Intelligence along with staff employed at the Central Policing Command will not be subjected to food allowance effective from 1 January 2021.
