Two individuals from the island of Kaafu Atoll Himmafushi has tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday while another two cases were reported, each from Laamu Atoll Gan and Addu City Hithadhoo.
Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) claims two local males, aged 32 and 33 were discovered with the viral disease from Himmafushi while a 24 year old local male tested positive from Addu City Hithadhoo and an 8 year old child was reported with the disease from Gan.
All three islands have reported positive cases previously and are under the active-cases list from HEOC.
Meanwhile active cases have been reported from Haa Dhaal Atoll Naavaidhoo and Kurinbi, Noonu Atoll Miladhoo, Raa Atoll Hulhudhuffaaru, Inguraidhoo, Dhuvaafaru and Kinolhas, Baa Atoll Kamadhoo, Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru and Naifaru, Kaafu Atoll Thulhusdhoo, Himmafushi and Gulhi, Laamu Atoll Gan, Alif Dhaal Atoll Maamigili and Omadhoo, Faafu Atoll Nilandhoo, Vaavu Atoll Keyodhoo and Thinadhoo, Thaa Atoll Madifushi, Vilufushi and Thimarafushi along with Addu City Hithadhoo and Feydhoo.
On the other hand with the discovery of three positive cases from Thaa Atoll Omadhoo was reported on Monday morning, while the island may officially get listed under active-cases list sometime on Monday.
On Sunday, authorities confirmed discovery of a total of 119 new cases within a 24-hour window, which included 100 Maldivians, 11 Bangladeshis, 3 Indians, 3 Filipinos along with 2 Sri Lankans and 2 from United Arab Emirates (UAE). Moreover, health authorities confirm 110 out of Sunday's total were discovered from Greater Male' Region while the remaining 9 cases were reported from across the country.
In the meantime the active cases have risen to 2,531, out of which 162 have been hospitalized. Another 1,457 individuals remain in various isolation facilities.
