Police have confiscated 190.1-kilo grams of narcotics it has seized in different drug-related operations.

Police said that the narcotics were destroyed at Dhoonidhoo yesterday. Police also said that the narcotics were confiscated in the presence of the Prosecutor General assigned committee as per the regulations on the confiscation of evidence used in drug and narcotics-related cases.

The narcotics destroyed include those seized between 2009 to 2016.

Police said narcotics confiscated include 51.16 kg of heroin, 41.19 kg of cannabis, 1.97 g of amphetamine, 3.05 kg of methamphetamine recimate, 173.88 g Nitrazepam, 113. 66 g MDMA and 6.60 kg of cocaine.

Police noted that several other items were also destroyed yesterday and that these items include 41926 rubber packets, 16 342 cellophane pieces, 536 empty film cans, 911 bullets, 649 hand-rolled smokes, 2334 pills and 25, 146 other items.

Police added the other items include things used by drug abusers.
