Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC confirmed COVID-19 from three islands from 3 different atolls today.

HEOC said a 2-month old baby tested positive for COVID-19 in Kaafu Gulhi today as the island reported its first case of the pandemic. HEOC said that the baby was tested having completed the mandatory 14-days home quarantine following travels to Male’ Area.

Meanwhile, HEOC confirmed that a 36-year woman tested positive for COVID-19 from Raa Inguraidhoo and that a 58-year-old woman from Alifu Dhaalu Omadhoo also tested positive for the pandemic today.

Both the woman was tested having completed their 14-day mandatory home quarantine.

In the latest update from the Health Protection Agency HPA, a total of 21 islands and 10 resorts are currently hosting active cases of COVID-19.

HPA has confirmed that a total of 5564 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Maldives since March.
