Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC has confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lhaviyani Hinnavru and Thaa Thimarafushi today.

HEOC said a 78-year-old local woman and a 10-year-old local girl had tested positive for COVID-19 today from Hinnavaru.

HEOC said they were tested positive for the pandemic after their samples were taken upon completion of the mandatory 14-days home quarantine following travels to the Male’ Area.

This is the first time COVID-19 cases were reported from Hinnavaru.

Meanwhile, HEOC said that a 38-year-old Bangladeshi national under home quarantine in Thimarafushi had tested positive for COVID-19 today. HEOC said that the man was tested positive upon the completion of the mandatory 14-days home quarantine.

This is also the island’s first case of COVID-19.

Last night, HPA said that said 20 islands and 12 resorts are hosting cases of COVID-19 across the country.

It listed the islands as Haa Alifu Filladhoo, Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo, Haa Dhaalu Naavaidhoo, Haa Dhaalu Kurinbi, Noonu Miladhoo, Baa Kamadhoo, Baa kudarikilu, Raa Hulhudhufaaru, Lhvaiyani Naifaru, Kaafu Thulusdhoo, Kaafu Himmafushi, Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili, Faafu Nilandhoo, Vaavu Keyodhoo, Vaavu Thinadhoo, Thaa Madifushi, Thaa Vilufushi, Fuvahmulah City and Hitadhoo & Feydhoo of Addu City.

HPA also said that in the 12 resorts 7 tourists and 13 staff have been listed as active cases of COVID-19.
