Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that 106 more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 today.

In a tweet, HPA said that out of the 106 cases 99 were reported from the Greater Male’ Area and that 7 were confirmed from the Atolls.

HPA said the new positive cases include 79 Maldivians, 21 Bangladeshis, 5 Indians, and 1 Nepalese national.

With this, the total number of positive cases in the country has now reached 5785.

Meanwhile, HPA revealed that 141 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 in the country today with 339 individuals declared cured of the illness in the last 48 hours.

HPA added that a total of 3349 people has now been cured of the COVID-19 pandemic here in the Maldives.

It said that 2414 people remained as active cases of COVID-19 with 146 hospitalized for further treatment.

In the Maldives, 22 individuals including 17 locals and 5 foreigners have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic since April of this year.

The locals include 8 men and 9 women while the foreigners include 4 from Bangladeshi and 1 from the Philippines.
