The Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC has confirmed 4 cases of COVID-19 from Faafu Nilandhoo.
HOEC said that all four individuals have been under home quarantine since traveling back from the Greater Male’ Area.
Initially, HEOC reported that two men aged 30 and 40 years had tested positive for COVID-19 while under home quarantine in Nilandhoo.
Later on, HEOC said two others, including a 36-year-old local woman and a 56-year-old local woman, had also tested positive for COVID-19 in the island. It said that they tested positive after getting tested for the pandemic having completed their mandatory 14-days quarantine period.
Nilandhoo remains under Health Protection Agency monitoring.
HPA also confirmed that 14 islands still have active cases of COVID-19 pandemic. This includes Haa Alifu Filladhoo, Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo, Haa Dhaalu Navaidhoo, R Hulhudhufaaru, Baa Kamadhoo, B Kudarikilu, Lhaviyani Naifaru, Lhaviyani Hinnavaru, Kaafu Thulusdhoo, Kaafu Maafushi, Faafu Nilandhoo, Vaavu Fulidhoo, Fuvamulah City and Addu City Hithadhoo and Feydhoo.
HPA added that active cases remain in 9 resorts and that this includes 5 tourists and 12 staff.
