Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC Spokesperson Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq has confirmed that a patient infected with COVID-19 has been placed on ventilator support.
Speaking at the latest press briefing hosted by the HEOC, Dr. Nazla said that 63 COVID-19 patients were currently admitted for further medical treatment and one individual was on ventilator support at Hulhumale Medical Facility.
She clarified that the individual on ventilator support was a foreigner.
Dr. Nazla also said another was currently admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital 11th floor DH11.
The latest figures from the Health Protection Agency show that the number of COVID-19 cases has now reached 3,302 in the country with 50 new cases of COVID-19 reported today.
HPA also reported that no individuals recovered from the virus today and that the active number of cases in the country now stands at 738.
HPA added that 574 people are currently under isolation at various facilities
