The Covid-19 viral contagion's spread remain in effect at an alarming rate as new cases continue mounting everyday; with 59 new cases reported on Wednesday.
According to Health Protection Agency (HPA) the new batch of cases as discovered on 22 July include 44 Maldivians along with 14 Bngladeshis and one Indian.
Meanwhile the total number of cases in Maldives have exceeded 3,000 - which includes both recoveries and active cases.
The latest update on Ministry of Health's dashboard reveal total number of cases at 3,044 as of 08:44hrs - with the figure expected to rise with the discovery of Wednesday's batch.
Moreover, health authorities confirm 617 remain as active cases of which 53 are currently hospitalized.
So far a total of 2,397 individuals have recovered from the disease, which indicates an overall recovery rate of 78.75 percent while the total number of deaths in relation to Covid-19 remain at 15.
According to statistics from the ministry, expats of Bangladesh make up the largest portion of cases by nationalities with a total of 1,383 individuals while total cases of Maldivians have reached 1,313.
