Health Protection Agency HPA says 37 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives today.
In a tweet, HPA said that these 37 include 19 Maldivians, 12 Bangladeshis, and 6 Indians.
This is the most number of cases reported in a day since authorities eased the lockdown in place in Male’ area to quell the Covid-19 global pandemic that has killed 8 people in the country.
With the new cases, the total number of cases in the country now stands at 2,187.
Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that 19 people have now recovered from the pandemic in the country. HPA said that the total number of individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 in the Maldives has now reached 1788. HPA also confirmed that there are 389 active cases of the illness in the country.
The Agency said that 294 people are currently in isolation while another 151 remains under quarantine at various facilities.
