On Saturday health authorities revealed that an individual employed at Maldives Criminal Court has tested positive for Covid-19.
The information was attested by Criminal Court's Media Officer Amaan Mohamed on Saturday evening, who added the individual was employed in the trial department.
However, the court's Media Officer did not disclose any personal identification of the employee.
According to Amaan, the authority received confirmation of the positive case on Saturday while he added contact tracing to identify possible interactions have already commenced.
Meanwhile some of the court's employees are already placed under isolation.
Amid the lockdown the court had been practicing government mandated protocols in releasing lowest number of staff possible for necessary operations.
Prior to lockdown ease the Maldives Criminal Court commenced hearings through audio-video channels, however the court have resumed hearings at its chambers.
As of Saturday evening, a total of 05 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been identified which includes two individuals at Maamendhoo.
