One of the local scouts volunteering at the National Emergency Operations Center's frontline has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

Maldives Scout Association attested to the development stating samples of two scouts were collected for showing symptoms similar with the viral contagion, adding one of the scout's test feedback showed positive results for the virus.

According to the association the scout in question was transferred to a quarantine facility on Thursday after their results were received.

Moreover, Scout Association confirmed it was collaborating with health authorities to contact-trace the scout to identify possible parties with whom they had interacted.

While this marks the first case of a frontline scout testing positive, earlier two of the NEOC frontline workers were discovered with the Covid-19 virus.
